Happy new year and a new decade

Happy new year and a new decade friends. 2011 begins and with it begins one of the most important years of my life. Its important because I have my board exams, followed by entrance exams, the Cricket World Cup, the IPL (with 2 new teams) and above all, my 18th birthday. I am superbly excited to live out the year 2011.

To celebrate the new year, I had gone to Matheran along with family and some family friends. What a place Matheran is, amazing. The beauty of nature is in its full glory. The "ghats" were amazing, short and sweet. The long walk towards the city was fun as we were walking on the railway tracks for most of the time. The trains don't come there much, so the tracks are as safe as the road.

The icing on the cake was the place where we stayed at the Hill Station. The resort was Misty Resort and I must say that it is one of the best resorts I have seen. Its small and simple, yet beautiful. The place was superb with monkeys, love birds and a rabbit. We named the rabbit as Nattu Kaka. :p

The 31st was celebrated with maximum fun, dance, food and biryanis. What a superb new year celebration for me. Later while coming back, I did horse riding for the first time in my life. Enjoyed it completely.

Just the celebrations were enjoyable, I am sure that the coming year and the decade will be enjoyable for me and for you all. Happy New Year once again. Enjoy!

How I met my idol, Virender Sehwag

I still remember the day when I met Sehwag (Dec 5, 2009). Two days ago on December 3, Sehwag walked into the Brabourne Stadium (Mumbai) to start playing one of his most memorable knocks in test cricket. I was in college, and around 12 noon some of my friends messaged me saying that Viru is on fire and just reached 100. I was happy, but at the same time envious as my friends were in the stadium watching him bat live. Well, there was no chance I could bunk my college on that day as we had a set of 3 mandatory attendance days from Dec 2 to Dec 4. Also, I had my Physics Practical Session starting at 3 pm, and thus I couldn't watch the knock on my TV or laptop either. Thus it unfortunately became impossible for me to keep up with the live updates. At around 2:30 pm, my friends texted me again saying that Viru crossed the 200 run mark. My excitement was over the moon, and I requested my professors for a reschedule, but sadly that could not happen and I missed most part of that inning.

What I expect from the Google Nexus 6 (Nexus X)

The Google Nexus 6 may be known as the Google Nexus X . Two reasons, firstly, the famous story Blade Runner features Nexus 6 super-advanced robots, and giving the same name to the phone could have copyright related issues. Secondly, avoiding the nomenclature confusion for their next smartphone which will be the 7th Nexus. Google already hasa Nexus 7 tablet so that's a name clash. My favorite cricketer, Virender Sehwag gets the ICC test cricketer of the year award

Yesterday, the ICC Awards 2010 took place in Bangalore. All the Indians had huge expectations from the two greatest cricketers India has ever produced, Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. My idol, Sehwag was nominated in two categories. ICC Cricketer of the year ICC Test Cricketer of the year Sehwag couldn't win the ICC Cricketer of the year, but he managed to proudly receive the award for the best cricketer in the original format of the cricket game, the tests. After receiving the award, Viru said, " It's fantastic to win the award, to take over the title from Gautam Gambhir,  I think I got motivated when Gambhir got this award last time, I was discussing with him that I hope I get it this time and I got it.
